Luke Navarro
Luke Navarro is passionate about the art of telling and receiving stories. In 2009 Luke left a 13 year career in the ministry to step into the role of Stay at Home Dad to his 4 and 6 year old daughters. In the moments between giving baths, picking up and teaching his girls to read Luke began to pursue his love of narrative. This interest took shape in 2010 when a New Year's resolution run amok became 52 Weeks of Geek, an experiment to determine what effect a life filled with stories might have by reading 52 novels, watching 52 movies and playing through 52 video games.
Besides reading Luke fills his spare time smoking and curing meats and exploring the countryside on his F650. Luke and his wife Christine have been happily married for 13 years, have two children and too many animals. They live along California's Central Coast.
Kevin McGill
Kevin knew that he liked story when 3rd grade classmates paid him two bucks for every short story he wrote. Unbeknownst to him, the students turned in the stories as homework assignments (If Kevin had known, he would have charged double). His literary operations were exposed because, whether you were a graphologist or Mrs. McComb, the handwriting was undeniably Kevin’s monkey scribble (unless, it actually was monkey scribble). Kevin was cast into detention. But, being the industrious boy that he was, detention s
erved as a place only to imagine more fantastic worlds. Today, his wife graciously listens as he reads wild stories about monsters with a bad case of halitosis, fire-breathing winged lions, and the mysterious voice of Huron city, which speaks only to its 15yr old steward, Nicholaus Lyons. Kevin invites you to join him and Luke as they talk life, manhood and the stories that shape us.
